Alternative Stoner with a doomy afterglow. Howling since 2017.
The Vienna-based quartet has firmly established itself in the European stoner rock scene since its inception in 2017. With over twenty live performances, including shows with Cone, Pyramid, and Cadû, they have refined their soundscapes. Their gigs range from headlining the Arena Beisl Open Air or playing the Blackdoor music festival in germany, to organizing their own stoner rock nights, showcasing their music and supporting emerging bands. Playing with post-rock bands like Karakorum and Wassermanns Fiebertraum highlights their versatility and refusal to be confined to a single genre.
Bassist & main vocalist Christian Sorko emphasizes: “Our diverse musical backgrounds, ranging from punk to space and doom rock, influence our songwriting, ensuring that every song can be a journey from bluesy to heavy riffs and psychedelic soundscapes.”
“A Deserts Tale”, set to release on November 8, 2024, takes listeners on an epic journey through enigmatic desert landscapes, characterized by stoner rock, heavy rock, blues, and psychedelic doom nuances.
Musically, the band is loud, heavy, yet intentionally dreamy and atmospheric. Their sound is rooted in stoner rock, but they make room for influences that go beyond the norm. With a fuzz-out presence, they have been described as stoner punk and psychedelic doom in the same performance.
With their latest album and more upcoming shows, the wolves from Austria remain an exciting force to be reckoned with live. Don’t miss the chance to step inside the cage and experience the unexpected.
MUSIC
A Deserts Tale
In a land where the sands stretch beyond the horizon, time dissolves and reality blurs. “A Desert’s Tale” is the story of a journey through this endless expanse—a journey that feels both eternal and ephemeral, like a dream caught in the twilight between dusk and dawn. The desert is a place of stark beauty and hidden danger, where every step forward is a confrontation with the self.
As the sun dips beneath the dunes, the journey begins—a passage through shifting sands that mirror the mind’s own turmoil. Echoes of the past and whispers of forgotten worlds guide the way, but the path is never clear. Shadows lengthen, and the pull of the unknown beckons, drawing the traveler deeper into the void.
Yet, in the heart of the storm, there is a moment of stillness—a reflection, perhaps, of the eye of the storm within. Destruction gives way to renewal, but the question remains: is this the end, or simply the beginning? As dawn breaks, the journey starts anew, looping back into itself, a cycle of struggle, surrender, and rebirth.
Is this a tale of survival in an unforgiving land, or a fever dream—a metaphor for the inner battles we all face? In “A Desert’s Tale,” the line between reality and dream is as elusive as the shifting sands, leaving us to wander and wonder where the true desert lies.
Lost In The Woid
Lost In The Woid (Live EP) – Between deserted wastelands and ominous sylvan forsakenness. „Killer combination of stoner doom and alternative rock. And it’s live. Dig it!“ – Fuzzy Cracklins
Caged Wolves
Caged Wolves (Debut EP) – Between Stoner Punk and Desert Rock, heavy riffs, fast licks, angry vibes. Like putting free roaming Wolves in a Cage. Duh.
Act Of Nature Beyond Control
Act Of Nature Beyond Control is a reflection of the struggle of our own existence. The need to find meaning and importance and a never ending drive to create and to leave a mark. It’s the feeling of self-actualization and achieving peace in total self-realization. AONBC, while heaving quite dark and sinister themes, is inherently hopeful. It incorporates the nihilistic truth of creating meaning from nothing and inherently setting you free by accepting a fate coming for all of existence and momentarily being part of an infinity.
